 Hey everyone-
well the big day has come.  Wyatt Scott Brady was born on Wednesday September 24, 2008 at 9:19 am.  its still not even that time for all of you in the western world.  he was born just over 4 hours ago and he is the most precious little guy ever.  last night brooke had a check up with her doctor at 5:30 and she was only dilated about 1/2 cm and had not had any pre labor contractions or anything so the doctor figured a few more days, but our little guy had other plans. after the visit we went to my game, came home and watched a movie and went to bed.  brooke did not sleep much and at about 4 am she started having real labor contractions.  there was no easing into it at all.  she woke me up at 5 and we timed the contractions, called the clinic and they said to come in.  we got to the clinic at 6:45 and she had already dilated to 8 cm in just 13 hours so they got her all hooked up and she started pushing at 820 and Wyatt was born at 919.  it was amazing. although she had an epidural at about 730 by the time brooke started actually pushing a lot of it had worn off and they gave her a little more but did not want to make her completely without feeling so she could feel to push. she was in pain.  watching her have that baby was the by far the most beautiful, terrifying, agonizing experience of my life.  right before he was born she was trying so hard and in so much pain that i just wanted it all to stop and then when he came out i was so happy and overwhelmed and scared, it was just crazy.  i felt more emothions stronger in that 5 min than any other one emotion ever in my life.  seeing brooke go through that was so hard for me and i cant even imagine how it was for her.  my hat goes off to all of you mothers out there. thank you for bringing us into the world.  brooke is doing great and so is our little man.
here is some info about Wyatt.  he is 20.1 inches long and weighs 7 lbs 9 oz.  they do it in cm and kilos 51 cm and 3.48 kilos.  we have been lying to everyone about names, we have had wyatt since before we knew if he was a boy.  his name was inspired by everyones favorite wild west law dog the infamous wyatt earp, although we would not say he is necessarily named after him.  we were just watching wyatt earp starring kevin costner on tv and thought we liked the name.  his middle name, scott, is my middle name and my dads middle name so we kept it going.  wyatt shares a birthday with grandma brady and he was born the day after mine and brookes anniversary, which oddly enough is something that he has in common with me.  i too was born the morning after my parents anniversary.  the most startling characteristic of wyatt is his hair?  where did it come from?  he has a full head of thick black hair.  niether brooke or i had any hair when we were born or for quite some time after, and when we did get it, it was far from black.  when i first saw his head i told brooke he had black hair and she did not believe me becaus we were certain he would be bald.  she thought i was trying to joke with her to lighten the mood of the labor.  well i could go on all day, but i really want to get back to my family.  we are all doing well and we love you all.  thanks for all of the support, love, and prayers.  we will be updating our blog with more pics of wyatt and our family soon.  jordan&brookebrady.blogspot.com
